Izakaya Sato

Near the residential streets of Nishisugamo 4-chome, 居酒屋 里 (Izakaya Sato) glows with warm light and offers a place to settle in from 5:30 p.m. until midnight. One dish praised as a hearty centrepiece is the pork ginger pork, with an appetising aroma from its savoury sauce. Its robust seasoning also makes it a good match for drinks, and it is well regarded as a house speciality worth ordering first.

There is counter seating for stopping by alone and quietly enjoying a drink, as well as a tatami room at the back where you can stretch out and relax. Beer and other alcoholic drinks are served alongside small plates that are easy to share, making the izakaya an option for dinner after work or a second round with friends.

The mama-san’s warm, homey hospitality helps create a comfortable atmosphere where it is easy to relax. It stays open late on all days except Tuesday, and seating can be reserved. Payment is cash only, so be sure to bring cash.
